At Merriott Primary School, we believe that children achieve their best when schools, families and communities work together. Our vision of Learning and Growing Together extends beyond our own school and is reflected in the strong partnerships we have with other schools and organisations.
Working Together for Children
As part of the Quantock Education Trust and the Crewkerne and Ilminster Schools Partnership (CISP), we work closely with colleagues to share expertise, develop best practice and create the best possible opportunities for children.
Through these partnerships, staff collaborate to:
- Share high-quality teaching and learning resources.
- Develop curriculum expertise and subject leadership.
- Learn from one another through professional development and training.
- Explore new approaches to improve outcomes for all pupils.
- Support smooth transitions between phases of education.
Enriching Children's Experiences
Working alongside partner schools enables us to provide a wide range of opportunities that enrich learning beyond the classroom.
These may include:
- Sporting competitions and festivals.
- Performing arts events and showcases.
- Curriculum enrichment activities.
- Collaborative projects and learning experiences.
- Opportunities to meet and work alongside children from other schools.
These experiences help children to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and respect whilst broadening their understanding of the world around them.
Supporting Staff Development
We are committed to continual improvement and recognise the value of learning from others. Our teachers and leaders regularly work with colleagues from partner schools to share good practice, reflect on teaching and learning, and develop their professional knowledge.
