FOMS - Friends Of Merriott School
Who we are:
We are a registered charity who work to provide additional funds to support the education of all pupils at Merriott.
Everyone becomes a member of FOMS automatically when their child starts at Merriott Primary School. Whether you choose to support from the sidelines or jump in with both feet, is up to you!
You can become part of the committee by coming along to our AGM which usually takes place every September.
If you would like to join at any other time of the year, of course you are more than welcome, just reach out via the school office and we’ll be able to give you more information! We are always looking for extra people.
What we do:
We run fundraising events throughout the year to help support the school with many different areas.
This is vital as it helps all students whether it be through supplying books, dictionaries, subsidising trips etc. Our funds help the school to grow your child’s experiences, knowledge and wellbeing during their time at school which makes it more enjoyable and fun for all!
Supporting the School:
Some examples of areas we have helped the school:
- Supplementing the costs of coaches for transport
- Reducing school trip costs for pupils/parents
- Class supplies i.e. specialised books or equipment for that class
- Funding towards the Trim Trail
- Token gifts for students at the end of KS1 and KS2
- Reference books for English
- Playtime games and equipment
- Musical instruments and workshops
- After school club resources
- Forest school resources
Exciting Fund Raising events:
We have held many different fundraising events but just to give you an idea of what we do here are a few popular ones!
